(Senior) Controller (f/m/d)

(Senior) Controller is responsible to meet HCBE’s objectives through development, implementation, execution, and supervision of all aspects of the controlling function, with a primary focus on:
  1. business planning and budgeting,
  2. budget monitoring and control,
  3. corporate and organizational performance monitoring,
  4. product profitability and pricing, and
  5. managerial reporting
  • He/she will act as an internal advisor when providing Senior Management with analysis and insight into financial results and projections to identify necessities and available opportunities to improve performance
  • This individual will challenge the traditional ways of doing business and deliver business results while maintaining the highest level of integrity and professionalism.

Main tasks and responsibilities:

  • Define, rollover, and adjust the holistic business plan of 3-5 years to be partially further detailed later on as part of the annual budgeting process
  • Ensure financial planning & analysis for the profit & loss statement, the balance sheet, divisions, profit/cost/service centers, and products
  • Keep track of actuals and forecasts of the monthly, quarterly and annual performance, and compare and analyze variance with original budgets
  • Provide profitability models based on periodic vs. present-value assessment
  • Deliver (model-based) product profitability assessments & pricing recommendations
  • Provide the rationale for identified variances and autonomously suggest proactive actions (e.g. mitigation efforts to close the gaps)
  • Ensure integrity, accuracy & timeliness of a comprehensive management reporting
  • Act as a business and strategic advisor to Senior Management as well as an in-house partner for all controlling aspects and ensure implementation by instituting appropriate measurement and control systems
  • Closely interact with relevant set of stakeholders, especially with HQ to deliver regular and ad-hor reportings


  • University Degree in business administration (finance, accounting, etc.), mathematics or computer science or equivalent
  • 5+ years of relevant professional experience as Controller preferably (captive) auto-financing or banking industries and in a fast-growing environment
  • Experience with the (re-)development & implementation of Controlling strategy strongly preferred
  • CFA or CPA credentials preferred
  • Functional capability to work with business analysis tools preferred
  • Resilient knowledge in Accounting, Regulatory Reporting, and Treasury
  • Ability to collaborate in a team environment with competing priorities with a high impact at all levels within and outside the company
  • Aptitude to enjoy working efficiently and effectively in a multicultural, multi-stakeholder environment
  • Strong analytical skills with an ability to turn data into insights and executable solutions but also to understand competitive and economic dynamics affecting the business
  • Ability to challenge the status quo and a traditional way of working while bringing in new ideas
  • Aptitude to enjoy working with a high-level of proactivity as well as get-stuff-done mentality to drive continuous improvement
  • Effective communication skills are demonstrated by the ability to explain complex topics in insightful outputs
  • Strong language skills in English and German (verbal/written) are a must
